NEW – Rural Library Enrichment Grants Report: Five Small Libraries Expand Services, Collections

NEW - Recruiting Volunteers for Board of Directors: The Board plans and implement policies and activities. We're especially interested in individuals who represent the diversity of the state in terms of geography, library size, gender, ethnicity, and personal background. Meetings are quarterly. (PDF)

Library People is a statewide, not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping libraries with library collections, services and programs through grants, technical assistance, connections, and advocacy.

Mission: Libraries provide education, information and cultural enrichment for all people. Library People, a nonprofit organization, works toward quality library service for Colorado residents by providing advocacy, support, and coordination of service projects to enable libraries of all types, especially small and rural libraries, to meet community needs.

Current projects include:

  • Advocacy on behalf of libraries to involve Coloradans in supporting their institutions.
  • Grants and technical advice for Colorado's libraries, including rural and smaller libraries.
  • Activities to benefit the community at large, such as visits by authors to local libraries and annual celebrations such as National Library Week.
  • Support for Colorado's local Friends groups.

  • Dedicated especially to helping small and rural libraries
  • Eager to provide technical assistance and advocacy
  • Passionate about making connections between people and reading
