SILENT AUCTION AT BOOK FAIR BENEFITS LIBRARY PEOPLE
The 2006 Rocky Mountain Book & Paper Fair in August again benefits Library People with a silent auction. The event, Friday, August 4 (5 to 9 p.m.), and Saturday, August 5 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.), brings together nearly 100 dealers in rare, used and antiquarian books. This year dealers in paper and ephemera-such as maps and prints-join the offering.
Last year, the initial silent auction raised nearly $1500 for Library People in its first fund-raiser. In addition to collectible books, cultural and entertainment items like certificates for restaurants also are available.
Tickets for "Books and All That Jazz" are $10 for Friday and Saturday; $5 for Saturday only. Parking is free at the Denver Merchandise Mart, Denver Merchandise Mart, I-25 and 58th Ave. For more information, and a coupon worth $1 off admission, visit the Rocky Mountain Antiquarian Booksellers Association.
